L-Proline
Amino acid essential for collagen synthesis, joint health, and connective tissue repair.
What It Is
L-Proline is a non-essential amino acid and a primary structural component of collagen — the most abundant protein in the human body. It is critical for maintaining the integrity of skin, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and the gut lining. Proline cannot be obtained in sufficient quantities from diet alone in certain clinical situations, making IV supplementation valuable for recovery, aesthetic, and structural goals. It works synergistically with Vitamin C in the hydroxylation step of collagen biosynthesis.
What It Does
- Collagen synthesis and skin elasticity
- Joint health — supports tendons, ligaments, and cartilage
- Skin repair and hydration
- Accelerates wound healing
- Muscle damage repair and recovery
- Supports gut barrier function and intestinal integrity
Clinical Considerations
Contraindicated in hyperprolinaemia (a rare metabolic disorder). Standard clinical assessment applies before administration.
