Bioactive Compound

Phosphatidylcholine (PPC)

The primary phospholipid of all cell membranes — supports liver health, reduces LDL cholesterol, and enhances cognitive function.

What It Is

Phosphatidylcholine (PPC) is the most abundant phospholipid in human cell membranes, making up approximately 50% of the lipid bilayer. It is essential for hepatocyte (liver cell) structural integrity, bile production, and the emulsification of arterial fat deposits. PPC lowers LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while raising HDL, and also provides choline — the precursor to acetylcholine (memory and neuromuscular neurotransmitter). Due to compatibility considerations, PPC is administered separately or at the end of the infusion sequence.

What It Does

  • Repairs and rebuilds cell membranes throughout the body
  • Emulsifies arterial plaques and reduces LDL and triglycerides
  • Supports liver integrity and bile production
  • Provides choline for acetylcholine synthesis (memory and focus)
  • Supports nerve cell membrane function and neurotransmission

Clinical Considerations

Generally well tolerated. Due to potential incompatibility with other IV components, PPC is administered separately or at the conclusion of the infusion. May cause mild flushing if infused too rapidly. A clinical assessment is required.
